I found this the other day. Around 2000 I was running Napster and heard a couple of their clips. I actually saved them and listened to them over the years but never heard the full song. I like it and based on the time, it is pretty cool. It reminds me of Shonen Knife, who I got into around 1993 but a bit harder. I am not sure what happened to them but ‘else’s fanbase shows up on YouTube.
why democritus.biz?
It is so painfully easy to write here. When I think about writing in Facebook, I think about Facebook itself and how others always use it. It probably makes Zuckerberg cringe the way the average person uses it but at the same time, it is the average that generates so much money for the company.
I have held back from writing in here as a “permanent location” for a number of reasons. For a while I was looking for good software. Then, I was spending time thinking of structure or content. Now, I guess I have decided on making the main journal side of my site a subdomain so I can leave the main domain open for other reasons.
Concerning the domain name… I was just bumming around and thought I would go into ancient Greek figures that I was relatively unfamiliar with. I have studied a few guys from Ancient Greece but not so much Democritus. Now, as time rolls on and if the site gets any sort of attention that seems like hits, I will have to fulfill a promise. To my “subs”, if you will, a YouTuber word for subscribers. The more popular the site gets the more I will have to justify the name of it. In other words, you will make me study Democritus more the more you visit. I may reference content from him from time to time but there is no plan in relation to this figure.
Sunday Post
A lot of people rant on Facebook. I like Facebook but I don’t think it is the only place where I should rant. Actually, I should rant just about everywhere but I have taken time off from engaging in this activity. I don’t have anything in particular to mention at this time but I am definitely testing out WordPress as an online soapbox.
A lot of people have known me to have pretty strong opinions on a lot of things over the years. There are very good reasons why I reached a point where I did not want to share them with anyone. I am not saying that I plan to “return to the land of the living” now. I am just interested in writing again and I am not going to keep it private. — ms

update 2-25-17
Around the time I was experimenting with WordPress, I found out about Yaddo and I grabbed this photo from their website and pasted it into a post. They just modified their website in October and I can’t find it anywhere. Here is the original URL ( https://www.yaddo.org/yaddo/Group1934.shtml ) and it produces a 404 error or document not found.
